Xavier’s Aptitude Test (XAT) is an MBA entrance exam conducted by the Xavier School of Management. Almost 160 other MBA colleges are accepting the XAT score for admission to their respective MBA programmes.

What is XAT Exam? Check Exam Details

Xavier Aptitude Test is the Admission Test for admission to MBA/PGDM programs in XLRI and other top MBA colleges like XIMB, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI New Delhi, LBSIM Delhi, TAPMI Manipal and 150 other top MBA colleges in India. XLRI will offer admission to its PGDM programs, offered at Jamshedpur and Delhi campuses on the basis of this exam score only, and will not accept any other test score. There are more than 70 cities and more than 100 venues where the exam will be conducted in India. XLRI had released the XAT 2024 Notification on July 14, 2023 and had started XAT registration from July 15, 2023-a month before the earlier XAT exams.

Key features of the XAT exam:

1. Test Sections: XAT typically consists of four main sections:
   • Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR)
   • Decision Making (DM)
   • Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI)
   • General Knowledge (GK)
2. Exam Mode: XAT is usually conducted in computer-based mode (online), but the General Knowledge section is administered in pen and paper-based format.
3. Exam Duration: The total duration of the XAT exam is around 3 hours.
4. Negative Marking: There is negative marking for wrong answers. Usually, 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect response.
5. Exam Date: The XAT exam is usually held in January every year.
